Hi everybody :)
I'm proposing a new channel for the RSW discord server: #on-this-day, suggested category "General".
Each day, a brief description of some RS updates from past years would be posted in there. For example (for 26 January): "On this day... Members were encouraged to massacre creatures with the release of Slayer (2005), captains welcomed the Tengu, Memory and Exile into their ports (2015) and Jagex made us hyped about god rays (2017)."
These descriptions would have to be hand-written for each day then posted in that channel, a task which I would gladly assist in/take upon myself. Additionally, the posts could be written ahead of time, with a bot posting the correct one at the start of each new day. The updates to write about would be based on the content listed on date pages such as this one.

Oppose - Aside from personally not really caring for facts like this, I think it'd just end up muted by most people and cluttering the already long list of channels. Talk-to Kelsey 20:39, 26 January 2020 (UTC)

Oppose - I feel there's no actual benefit to doing this. If you're really compelled to take part in such a project, maybe a Twitter feed, not unlike the one the RS History guy runs? Badassiel 20:47, 26 January 2020 (UTC)
Oppose - These serve better as social media posts, and as mentioned the RSW Twitter already tweets these (way too often imo). And it would take up another channel space in our Discord server, which we've been trying to cut down on by archiving inactive/dead channels and moving them right down to the bottom of the list. Oppose - More of a social feed thing rather than a Discord channel. Most people would just ignore it anyhow. Twig Talk

Oppose/Comment - This info, while interesting, is basically just trivia and I don't think it really adds anything to the discord. If it were to be added and if you go with writing in advance and posting automatically every day, then I think this would fit best in the Bots category rather than the General category.
